Do you think a skate park is a good idea?

Now that the proposed Plainville skate park is slated to receive $100,000 from the state, the project may finally become a reality. Do you think in-line skaters and skateboarders will use it? Do you think it will become a problem for the town to maintain and monitor?

I think anything that keeps our children busy in a positive way is worth having in Plainville. If they don't have positive outlets like the Skate Park and/or organized athletic activites, etc. they will find unsuitable ways to occupy themselves.

i think it's a great idea. anything that keeps young people active outdoors, away from tv, and enjoying themselves is a great thing for this town. i think though, it's absolutely essential that the park is monitored to ensure that safety gear, such as helmets are used at all times!

My little brother is 15 years old. It scares me to think of what i went through when i was that young. I was always chilling with the wrong crowds, and getting into trouble all the time. He highly enjoys active sports, actually he plays Plainville baseball and they just won the state championship. He is always on his bike on his spare time. If you have some time of security like locking it up, even make it an indoor arena i think it will work out fine. Has volunteers or staff members there just like you do with the pool. People need to think of doing things for the kids to keep them out of trouble, away from drugs. What about the kids that have family problems, give them a place they can feel safe and have fun. Have them issue passes like the pool and charge a set rate for plainville citizen just like the pool. I have lived in Plainville my whole life, and let me tell you that there isnt much to do other than to cause trouble. I vote yes.

Yes because i would love to go learn skateboreding at skate park. there is not a local one so its a great idea. [:
It's about time Plainville
It's about time Plainville got a skatepark. I think it is great for the kids in town. It will be another asset for Plainville and help keep kids busy during their downtimes. I can't wait to see it complete next year!!!!! My sons will definately use it.

I think this is a wonderful idea. Anything that will help keep our kids away from the TV and video-games and doing something positive would be great for Plainville!
