The Plainville Senior Center Bowling League announced that Carter Casida, Helen Tessier and Gil Theriault won the title of bowlers of the month for November 2011. The league meets at Laurel Lanes, 136 New Britain Ave., Plainville, on Mondays at 1 p.m. There is a cost per person, per week and includes three games of bowling, open bowling discount card, automatic scoring and free weekly beverage. Naming committee to consider names for Wall of Honor

There will be a special meeting of the Plainville Community Schools’ Naming (Selection) Committee on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 5:30 p.m., in the Plainville High School Library, 47 Robert Holcomb Way, to discuss the nominations for the Memorial Wall of Honor.

The Wall of Honor, established last year, is in recognition of meritorious service to education.

Komisarjevsky sentenced to death

NEW HAVEN – Joshua Komisarjevsky was sentenced to death, Friday, after nearly 20 hours of deliberation by the same jury that convicted him on six capital felony counts for the 2007 murders of a Cheshire woman and her two daughters.

In October, Komisarjevsky was convicted of killing Jennifer Hawke-Petit, 17-year-old Hayley Petit and 11-year-old Michaela Petit.
