This playful pit-bull mix has had a few changes since he first appeared in The Plainville Citizen two weeks ago. First, his name was changed to Clyde, which was more fitting for him, and he is now neutered. He was found in December wandering in Plainville. Clyde is estimated to be about about 1-1/2 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. He is very friendly and loves to be on the go. Clyde is living at the Plainville Dog Pound on Granger Lane, but would love a real home, said Gabby Paciotti, animal control officer. The cost to adopt is $50, which includes two vaccinations. For more information, call Paciotti at (860) 747-1616, ext. 291.

Police charge two men with animal cruelty
A pit bull that had been confined to a cage in the basement of a Plainville home was euthanized Sunday evening after it was gravely injured "in an act of rage," police said. "Baby," a one-year-old dog, had been drilled in the head with a power tool as retaliation for biting a boy, 8, who lives in the home, according to police.
