Registration under way for summer programs

Registration for the Recreation Department's summer programs began May 19 and will be held daily, at the recreation office, 50 Whiting St., until filled. Hours are Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon. The following programs are being offered:

Registration for the Recreation Department's summer programs will begin Wednesday, May 19 and will be held daily, at the recreation office, 50 Whiting St., until  filled. Hours are Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon. Saturday registration will be held May 22 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Halloween 2009

Two witches look they may be preparing to "cast a spell" on others at the Oct. 30 annual Halloween party and parade. The event is presented by the Plainville Recreation Department and the Plainville Public Library with refreshments provided by the Rotary Club. Hundreds of children and adults came to see the magic show by Bryan Flint and to march in the downtown parade, which was led by the Plainville High School band.
