The Band Shelter Dedication will be held Tuesday, June 8 at Norton Park, S. Washington St., at 6:30 p.m. Opening remarks will be by the following: Tom Warnat, Chairman of the Park and Recreation Advisory Board; Dan Hurley, Town Council Chairman; Johanna Chapman, Past President of The Rotary Club; Shirley Osle, President of The Rotary Club; Ruth Hummel, Charter Member of the Friends of Norton Park Concerts and Town Historian; Elizabeth “Betty” Boukus, State Representative. The band shelter was provided by the Rotary Club of Plainville. The performance by will be provided by the Plainville Wind Ensemble.

Two witches look they may be preparing to "cast a spell" on others at the Oct. 30 annual Halloween party and parade. The event is presented by the Plainville Recreation Department and the Plainville Public Library with refreshments provided by the Rotary Club. Hundreds of children and adults came to see the magic show by Bryan Flint and to march in the downtown parade, which was led by the Plainville High School band.

Students recipients of Rotary Club's generosity

On May 27, the Plainville Rotary Club awarded 33 scholarships, totaling $27,000, to students at the 54th Annual Scholarship Awards Night held at Nuchie’s in Bristol. A total of 118 students, guests and Rotary members attended the event.

Rotary Club announces annual Penny Sale

 

Members of the Plainville Rotary Club are gearing up for the group's 35th annual Penny Sale, which is set for 6 p.m. April 4 at Plainville High School.
